Hey Galaxy Squad! ✋ Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S24? If you do, stop what you’re doing because the One UI 8.5 update is officially here, and it is mind-blowing! It’s like Samsung took a bunch of futuristic robot brains and stuffed them inside your phone. π§ π€
Here are the coolest things you can do right now: One UI 8.5 features
π¨ The "Infinite" Magic Wand
Have you ever used the AI tool to move things in photos? Well, now you can keep going forever! Use the pen tool to draw a dragon on your shoulder, hit "Generate," and then click "Keep Editing" to add a lightsaber, a pet tiger, and a space helmet. Your photos are about to get weird and awesome! π✨
π️ Scribble to Masterpiece
For all my S24 Ultra friends, there’s a new app called Creative Studio. You can draw a super messy stick figure or a rough sketch of a car, and the AI will turn it into professional digital art. You can even design your own custom profile cards that look like a pro made them! π️π¨
π£️ Talk to Your Photos
This is wild—you can now just tell your phone what to do. Want to change your red shirt to neon green? Just type "change shirt color to green." Want to move your annoying brother to the other side of the photo? Just ask! ππͺ
π Anti-Thief Mode & Ad Blocker
Theft Protection: If someone tries to grab your phone, it now requires your face or fingerprint for everything important. π‘️
Ad Shield: Tired of annoying ads popping up while you’re trying to use apps? There’s a new setting in "Device Care" that lets you block apps from spamming you. Victory! π«π Make it YOURS
You can now change your brightness and volume sliders to be vertical and move them anywhere on the screen. Plus, if you set a cool wallpaper, the clock will actually move out of the way so it doesn’t cover your face! π✨
As of late April 2026, the One UI 8.5 update (built on Android 16) is the hottest topic for Galaxy S24 users. While the Galaxy S26 series launched with this software, Samsung is now bringing those "superphone" features to your S24.
Here is your master guide on how to download it and the best tricks to use once it's installed.
π₯ How to Download One UI 8.5 on Galaxy S24
The stable rollout of One UI 8.5 release date is expected to begin on April 30, 2026, starting in South Korea and hitting global markets (US, India, UK) by early May.
Option 1: The Standard Update (Stable)
Go to Settings.
Scroll down to Software update.Tap Download and install.
If it's available, your phone will begin the process. Tip: Connect to Wi-Fi; this is a massive update!
Option 2: The Beta Program (Early Access)
If you can't wait for the stable release, the Beta is currently active:
Open the Samsung Members app.
Look for the One UI Beta Program banner.Tap Enroll and give your consent.
After a few minutes, go to Settings > Software update to find the Beta 1 or Beta 2 download.
π Tips & Tricks: Master the New AI Features
1. Use "Creative Studio" Like a Pro
This is a standalone app (imported from the S26) that lets you design stickers, profile cards, and invitation art.
Trick: Use the S Pen (on S24 Ultra) to doodle a rough shape, then use the text prompt to say "Turn this into a 3D glass sculpture." The AI will render it perfectly.2. AI Call Screening (Your Robot Butler)
Stop talking to telemarketers!
Trick: When a call comes in from an unknown number, tap Call Screen. The AI will ask who is calling and why, and you’ll see a live transcript on your screen. You can even tap pre-written responses for the AI to speak back!3. Advanced Audio Eraser
This is a godsend for content creators.
Trick: In the Gallery or Video Editor, use this tool to isolate specific sounds. You can literally turn down the volume of wind noise or a barking dog while keeping your voice crystal clear.
4. Interactive Photo Assist
Editing is now conversational.
Trick: Open a photo, tap the Galaxy AI button, and type: "Move the person on the left to the beach background." The AI will cut the subject out and blend them into a new scene automatically.
5. New "Film" Camera Filters
Check your camera app for three new native filters:
Classic Film: For that nostalgic, vintage grain.
Pop Film: Makes colors "punchy" for Instagram.Blanc: A clean, high-contrast black and white.
π‘️ Hidden Safety Settings
Theft Protection: Go to Settings > Security and Privacy. If the phone detects a sudden "snatch-and-run" motion, it locks the screen instantly so the thief can't access your data.
Allergy Insights: The Weather app now includes a real-time Pollen Tracker for trees and grass—perfect for planning your weekend without the sneezing!Ready to level up? Check your settings now and join the #GalaxySquad in the future!
